![]() ![]() ![]() I went back and asked for some soap and the gentleman brought me some dish detergent in a small cup. Then, when I went to wash my hands the soap bottle was filled with water. I thought hmm, shouldn't he be the one to put them on the roll, but anyway I was just glad he had some to give me. I asked the gentleman at the counter for some and he gave me two rolls to put on the holder. the restroom, which was very clean, but it didn't have any toilet paper. Nevertheless, we got there when they first opened. My husband raved about how good the chicken was so I was eager to see if it lived up to my expectations. We stopped by Harold's chicken on our way back home to Indiana. But I know Harold's is famous and it definitely deserves a try but I wouldn't expect your best chicken experience. I think there are definitely better places, even places like Church's. Oh - and regarding the location, parking here isn't so easy. that they need to change their oil because you can taste the same oil on different items. But there was a lot of bread and fries it that's your thing! Side note pointed out to me by someone I dined with. The plates were filling, the fries, and the bread weren't too worthwhile. I would say our sides of Okra, Broccoli + Cheese bites, or the Coleslaw were standout items. As far as the food - the chicken was a bit dry (at least my chicken, but other people in my party felt otherwise), but definitely not as legendary as is said by many for Harold's. It may be that the place was quite busy, but the service was lacking - I felt like I was wasting their. Harold's is notorious, I was born in Chicago and I still haven't tasted it until now. It gets the job done and I’m quite satiated which most places are disappointing in that department. I’ve had better actual chicken but the quantity of food plus quality of each component of my meal was good so I’ll give it an 8 for the overall experience but since they’re judged for their chicken, that was the thing that actually was lagging. I’ve gotten a roll on the side before in New York but never a whole 2 slices of bread and the fries were good. The slices of bread were a different twist. The hottest sauce I got in the side was hot enough. ![]() That actual chicken was decent, the mild sauce was amazing. I didn’t care either way but just something I noticed. It’s fresh but if you’re impatient then you’re gonna hate it. Felt like maybe 15 minutes which depending on your POV could be good or bad either way. You can choose to have the chicken drizzled in whatever. I ordered the 1/2 white meat chicken meal which comes with 2 wings, 2 breasts, fries and 2 slices of bread. So I just left this place and the review is fresh in my head.
